Principal's Report

I would like to congratulate Mr Vin Ryan on his appointment as Principal of Holy Rosary Primary School beginning next year. I am sure everyone will join me in warmly welcoming Vin and his family into our school community. I look forward to meeting with Vin over the coming weeks to complete a positive handover as Holy Rosary begins an exciting new chapter.
Next week we welcome our 2026 Prep group to Holy Rosary for the first of their transition visits. It will no doubt be an exciting time for the children and their families as they prepare to begin their primary school education.
Our swimming program for Prep to Year 2 will also commence shortly, following the completion of mandatory lessons for our middle and senior students earlier in the year. Living in Australia, the life skill of swimming is vitally important, and we value the opportunity to support students in developing these essential safety skills both within and beyond our school programs.
Congratulations to Mack Gregory (Gr. 6) and Ngaire Milne (Grade 4) who represented the school at the state athletics championships. Mack performed well in the high jump and Ngaire completed an excellent display in the discus. It is great to see the individual success and humility of both children, they were wonderful ambassadors for our school and their respective families.
A big thank you to our P&F team for the recent Cookie Dough fundraiser – a great success once again! Your efforts continue to make a positive difference for our students. Finally, a reminder that our next P&F and Advisory Board meeting will be held next week in the Conference Room. All are welcome to attend.
As a school we are also piloting a dental and optical service for children in the coming weeks. This is an exciting opportunity for all and information has been shared with families. We hope to build the service into the annual routine of the school to support families and children in accessing important allied health supports.
A reminder to all that children should not be left on the COLA area in the morning prior to drop off at 8.30am. Supervision begins at 8.30am.
Next Tuesday, our school will join the nation in commemorating Remembrance Day. Two of our Grade 6 Leaders, Jimmy C and Tahlia M, will accompany me to the War Memorial where they will lay a wreath on behalf of our school community, for those who have served our country and preserved our way of life that we enjoy today.
