Library News

Do we accept book donations?
Yes! We’re grateful for the recent donations that have helped enrich our school library collection. Our school library has been buzzing with excitement thanks to several wonderful book donations received over the past few weeks.
We’ve also had several queries this year about what kinds of books we can accept. A reminder that we can only accept donations that align with our Collection Development Policy. This means donated books must be:
- in excellent condition
- of high interest to our students
- relevant to the Australian Curriculum
- suitable for our collection
To keep our collection engaging, relevant, and high quality for all readers, we’re unable to accept items that fall outside these guidelines.
Thank you for supporting our library and helping us to continue building a collection our students love!
Prep and their Library Adventures
Our Prep students have been busy learning how to use our school library with confidence and care. They have explored the difference between imaginative texts (fiction picture books) and informative texts (non‑fiction books).
Alongside learning about book types, Prep has been practising the hands‑on skills they need to use the library confidently and respectfully. We’ve already covered how to take books off the shelf safely, how to care for borrowed books, and even how to shelve a junior fiction picture book in the correct place! This early introduction to organisation and alphabetical order builds confidence and promotes independence.
It’s been wonderful to see our youngest learners growing as independent, enthusiastic library users.
