1. RECORDARAMA, Saturday 1.8.26
There’s only 1 sleep left! On Saturday 1 August HPS Senior Recorder Ensemble will represent the school at RECORDARAMA, in friendly rivalry with groups from other primary schools. Following the 9 am primary ensemble section, HPS exam-level recorder players Maya E and Zoe, will be participating in the RECORDARAMA solos – Saturday is shaping up to be a marvellous musical day, with a total of 6 concerts (eisteddfod sections) displaying rich variety of styles and eras to entertain!
2. Music Performance and the Rainbow Recorder Program – Invitation to parents and recorder students, 6 pm, 11.8.26
Parents/Caregivers:This year, I am trialling a new idea – to host an information session that will cover an introduction to music performance and the Rainbow Recorder Program method I teach. There will be an opportunity for recorder students to take the role of teacher, and parents/caregivers may be interested in tried and true techniques to support your child’s learning.
The session may appeal particularly to those new (or newly returned) to recorder lessons, but ALL students and parents/caregivers are very welcome. I envisage it will take up to around 45 minutes, and will be held in the school Library, commencing at 6 pm on Tuesday 11 August. Please see forthcoming email from me for details, and please RSVP by Thursday 6.8.26 to <fionawalters@ioville.net>. Thank you.
Happy music making!
