Senior School Production: Mamma Mia!

Girton students shine in Mamma Mia!'s opening night in Bendigo
It's not too late to experience the colour and spectacle of Girton's Senior School production of Mamma Mia!.
Mamma Mia! opened at Ulumbarra Theatre last night. The talented cast and crew wowed the packed audience with musicality, energy and spot-on comedic timing – with some cheeky local references thrown in for good measure.
First staged in London’s West End in 1999, Mamma Mia! redefined musical theatre by blending an uplifting storyline with ABBA’s iconic pop hits. Since then, it has graced stages in more than 400 major cities around the world.
The story follows Sophie, a young bride-to-be who sets out to find her father in the lead-up to her wedding, much to the chagrin of her mother, Donna. The warmth of the story, combined with the sun-drenched Greek island setting, offers the perfect theatrical escape from the Bendigo winter.
Don't miss out on your chance to see this incredible performance. Do I recommend it? I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do!
Mamma Mia! has two shows remaining: 27 and 28 June (today and tomorrow) at 7pm. Limited tickets are available for purchase at Bendigo Venues & Events.
