IN THE CLASSROOM

As part of National Sorry Day yesterday 26 May ~ students across the school made a healing tree with Mrs Whalan.

They started with an empty tree, which was a metaphor for the stolen generations, what they and their families lost and how those of us who have come after, how we can make our healing tree bloom again and for future generations.

The K-2 classroom did healing hands, hands that are always willing to reach out to each other and hold each other's hands through this journey we are on together.

3-6 reflected on how we can take broken and empty branches on our tree and make it bloom again and how we can continue to strengthen the foundations now and as we move forward together.

They reflected with great empathy and as they move through the world, they will be wonderful ambassadors for change, making their healing tree and healing trees everywhere, bloom, knowing that without having strong roots our trees end up disconnected, but with having a strong foundation, our tree's are unshakeable.
