Wellbeing Update

The Wellbeing team has had a fantastic start to the term 2, with several exciting programs and initiatives now underway to support our students at Lara Secondary College.
Bunji Program Begins for Year 7 Students
We are pleased to announce that the Bunji social and emotional learning program has officially commenced for selected Year 7 students. Bunji is designed to help students strengthen their emotional wellbeing, build positive relationships, develop resilience, and enhance their communication and teamwork skills.
The program provides students with valuable opportunities to connect with peers, reflect on their personal strengths, and learn practical strategies to support their wellbeing both at school and beyond. We are excited to see our students engaging so positively with the program already.
Breakfast Club Now Running Twice a Week
Our School Breakfast Club has also started and is now operating every Wednesday and Friday morning. Breakfast Club provides students with a welcoming space to connect with others and enjoy a healthy breakfast before classes begin.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Cheese Links and Lara Sporting Club for their generous financial donations, which have enabled us to purchase food and supplies for the program. Community support such as this makes a real difference to our students and school community.
Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser
The Wellbeing Team will also be hosting a fundraising sausage sizzle on Sunday 31 May at Bunnings Warehouse North Geelong.
Funds raised will go directly towards supporting student wellbeing programs and initiatives at the college. We would love to see members of our school community come along, say hello to our wellbeing and teaching staff, and grab a snag and drink while supporting a great cause.
Thank you for your ongoing support of student wellbeing at Lara Secondary College.
Warm regards,
The Wellbeing Team
