Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week marked a significant milestone for our students as they began their formal preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist.

On Monday, the group gathered for their Reflection Day, a special time dedicated to stepping away from the usual classroom buzz to focus on the spiritual significance of this Sacrament of Initiation. It was a day filled with thoughtful discussion, quiet contemplation, and a shared sense of excitement as the students began this important chapter in their faith journey.

With Gratitude to Our Mentors

An undertaking like this requires a dedicated team to guide, teach, and inspire. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff members who are shepherding our students through this process:

  • Mrs. Kathryn Ady
  • Mrs. Liz Lamb
  • Mrs. Liana Mackay
  • Mr. Nathan Mayberry

Their commitment ensures that this is not just a ceremony, but a deeply meaningful experience for every child involved.

Save the Date: Family Commitment Mass

The next step in our preparation is the Family Commitment Mass. This is a beautiful opportunity for our parish and school community to come together and support our candidates as they make their formal pledge of intent.

  • When: Saturday, 23rd May
  • Time: 6:00 PM
  • Where: St. Patrick's Church, Mentone

We look forward to seeing our families there as we continue to support our students on this wonderful path. Please keep these children in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to receive the Blessed Sacrament for the first time.

School and MACS Policies update

St Patrick's follows policy and procedures as set out by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), which are reviewed in a cyclical manner.

Two policies which have been recently reviewed by our staff include the Bullying Prevention Policy and Complaints Handling Policy. We are required to notify our community when policy reviews occur, especially when they relate to child safety.

A full published suite of policies can be found on our school website.
