ANZAC Day Writing

In Grade 3, we have been focusing our literacy sessions on ANZAC Day. This has included learning about why ANZAC day is important and also the history behind this significant event.  As part of this unit, students were given the task of writing a diary entry from a soldier, who landed on the shores of Gallipoli on the first ANZAC Day (25th April, 1915).  They were given the challenge of using their senses to make their writing more vivid and descriptive.

We were amazed by the pieces that the Grade 3 students created. Please find attached some beautifully published work by Magnus, Lincoln, Summer and Valerie.

JSC Crazy Hair Day - Last Day of term 1

Thursday 3rd of April we successfully raised $556 dollars. This couldn’t have happened without 9 classes and many suggestions from our JSC letterboxes, to support the Royal Children’s Hospital.  So the JSC representatives voted to support the Good Friday appeal.

Other suggestions have been to have burgers at the canteen, pizza and sushi at the canteen.  On the canteen menu are chicken burgers, beef cheese burgers, cheese pizza and BBQ chicken pizza.  Sushi will be available once a term.

The classroom air conditioners were fixed and the toilets will be monitored for cleanliness. We ask kids to respect the toilets by keeping them clean. Also don’t hang on the soccer nets because they have fallen down numerous times. So please be kind to our equipment and facilities.
