National Simultaneous Storytime

Join Us for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!

At St Joseph’s, we believe in the power of a great story to spark imagination and build community. That is why we are thrilled to announce that our school will be participating in National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!

What is National Simultaneous Storytime?

This nationwide celebration of literacy brings millions of people together—in schools, libraries, and homes—to read the same Australian picture book at the exact same time. It is a high-energy event that highlights the joy of shared reading across the entire country.

Introducing Our 2026 Book: Luna Roo

This year’s selection is "Luna Roo," a tail-thumping, goal-scoring underdog story that brings the electricity of the football pitch right onto the page.

Written by football veterans Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, and featuring vibrant art by award-winning illustrator Jake A. Minton, Luna Roo is a high-octane tale that will have our students cheering as if they were in the grandstands.

Save the Date!

On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, St Joseph’s will join the rest of Australia to read Luna Roo aloud together.

  • Date: Wednesday, 27 May 2026
  • Time: 12:00 pm AEST
  • Theme: Literacy, connection, and team spirit!

We look forward to sharing this "unmissable" storytime event with our students and seeing the excitement that Luna Roo brings to our classrooms. Get ready to cheer!
