Dear Parents and Caregivers,
At St. Joseph’s, we continually invite our students to embody how we expect them to BE through: respectful, encouraging, and inspiring actions.
Our whole-school focus for Weeks 3 and 4 centres on personal responsibility and resilience. To support this, we utilize our "Toolkit" (Think, Feel, Act) alongside our REACT restorative practice framework. These visual tools empower our students to navigate challenges, acknowledging that while mistakes are a natural part of growth, we always have the grace to restore relationships in a positive, respectful way.

We invite you to discuss these expectations at home. Please be assured that we maintain unconditional positive regard for every student. As our amazing students journey through these vital formative years, they flourish best when surrounded by a unified community of support.
To maintain this positive environment, we ask that you utilize our Parent Action Plan should your child encounter a challenge. By emailing the school directly with any concerns, you allow us to conduct a thorough and balanced investigation. We are fully committed to ensuring a safe, thriving environment, and we appreciate your patience and trust as we work to support every child’s perspective.

Last Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome students from Balnarring Early Learning Centre to partner with our Year 4s. It was a joy to witness our Year 4 students demonstrate such leadership, patience, and kindness as they mentored their young visitors. Our "little scientists" were truly learners in action!
A heartfelt thank you to Dom Taylor for her exceptional preparation and leadership. Throughout the term, we look forward to hosting further sessions at Woolley's Beach and onsite, focusing on nature play and inquiry. Strengthening these bonds with our local preschools and other organisations is a beautiful expression of our vision and social teachings.
Thank you to the many families who attended the ANZAC Day service in Crib Point. This remains a significant moment in our school calendar as we revere and remember those who served, as well as our current Defence Force families who continue to serve our country with dedication.

This week, we turn our hearts toward our mothers and special caregivers. We celebrate the nurturing presence you provide and the vital role you play in your children's lives.
We warmly invite our community to our Mother’s Day Celebrations on Friday, 8th May:
12:00 PM – Mother’s Day Lunch: Join us for a three course lunch served by our student leaders, featuring a guest speaker and student performances. Please ensure you RSVP for catering purposes.
2:00 PM – Mother’s Day Mass: A beautiful opportunity to gather in prayer and gratitude.
Note: Mother’s Day gifts will be sent home on this day; please remember to send $5 per child.

Congratulations to our Year 3–6 students for their incredible display of "Mind-Master" thinking during last week's Cross Country. The grit, determination, and "I can do it" attitude on display were truly inspiring. Thank you to Emily Reed and all our wonderful volunteers for making the day a success.

Finally, we recently welcomed the VCEA Capital Grants Committee to discuss our application for a new Foundation (Prep) building. We are hopeful that we are successful and we continue to provide learning environments of the highest standard for our growing community.
Yours in Partnership,
Gab
