Year 9 Leader of Learning
Term 3 has started off with a bang as we embarked on our term-long City Experience events. Beginning in week 1 with a citywide Scavenger Hunt, students negotiated public transport, the Town Hall station escalators, traffic, sushi-stealing seagulls and the weather as we navigated our way through the streets exploring landmarks; Hosier Lane, Town Hall, the theatre district, Fed Square and Parliament House.

During week 2, students met with and were interviewed regarding their Morrisby profiles and results. For many students, this process was entirely new and daunting. Our students were responsible, respectful and enjoyed the process of learning about what their data suggested about future pathways and careers. Thank you to the Pathways Team for your hard work and organisation throughout this process. It was a valuable and informative experience for our students.
In weeks 3 and 4, our students headed into the city and braved the bitter cold and rain to experience the Eureka Skydeck and the National Gallery of Victoria. Our students represented themselves and our school well as they moved throughout the gallery and soaked in the aerial views of the city.
This week we will travel in again to encounter a myriad of creatures at the Melbourne Aquarium.
In our assembly last week, we recognised and celebrated the students who maintain a 3.9 and higher GPA.

Our role as the Year 9 Leadership Team is to guide and support both students and staff throughout the year. While your child’s CONNECT Teacher will remain their first point of contact for day-to-day matters, we are here to assist with any serious or major concerns that may arise.
We thank you for your continued support and involvement and look forward to learning with and from you throughout Term 3.
