Year 8 Leader of Learning
This term has marked an exciting new chapter for our Year 8 students as they officially moved into the brand-new Junior School building. After months of anticipation, it has been fantastic to see students settling into their new learning spaces with enthusiasm and pride.
The feedback from both students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. Students have embraced the new environment, enjoying the modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, and the opportunity to learn in a purpose-built facility. While any move comes with new routines and expectations, our Year 8 cohort has adapted exceptionally well. We are incredibly proud of how quickly students have settled into the new building, showing maturity, responsibility, and respect for their new learning environment.
The move has also provided an opportunity to establish consistent routines across the year level, helping students transition smoothly between classes and maximise their learning time. It has been wonderful to see students embracing these expectations and contributing to the positive culture we are continuing to build within Year 8.
Alongside this exciting milestone, we would also like to congratulate the many students who continue to demonstrate outstanding commitment to their learning.
A huge congratulations to the students who have maintained 100% attendance throughout Term 3 so far.

Basketball Academy Update
The Cranbourne Secondary College Basketball Academy has enjoyed another fantastic year, with our students continuing to develop both on and off the court. It has been wonderful to see the growth in their basketball skills, teamwork, leadership and commitment throughout the year.
Our Academy students have proudly represented the College at a number of competitions, including the Victorian Secondary Schools Challenge, Champions Cup, School Sport Victoria tournaments and several friendly tournaments against other schools. These experiences have provided valuable opportunities for students to challenge themselves, compete at a high level and build lasting friendships.
One of the highlights of the year was a visit to Courtside, where students participated in an elite training session and had the unique opportunity to watch Australian NBA player Josh Giddey complete his individual workout. It was an inspiring experience that gave students a firsthand look at the dedication, preparation and professionalism required to compete at the highest level of the sport.
Looking ahead, our focus now turns to the Australian School Basketball Championships on the Gold Coast, where two Cranbourne Secondary College teams will proudly represent the College against some of Australia’s leading school basketball programs. This is an exciting milestone for our Academy and a reward for the hard work and commitment shown by our students throughout the year.
The Basketball Academy continues to provide students with opportunities to develop as athletes, leaders and learners. We are incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved so far and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and represent Cranbourne Secondary College with pride.
