Kindergarten

It has been another busy and exciting time in Kindergarten, with lots of wonderful learning happening across our classroom! The children have been enthusiastically exploring new concepts, developing their skills and, most importantly, having fun while they learn.

In Mathematics, Kindergarten has been exploring the fascinating world of data. We have been learning how to ask questions about information we have collected and how to use our data to find answers. We had great fun investigating how many jellybeans of each colour were in a packet — with perhaps a little taste testing on the side! The children enjoyed sorting, counting, comparing and talking about what their data was telling them.

We have also been working hard on our letter and tricky word fluency, building confidence and accuracy as we read. The children are putting these skills into practice as they develop their reading and writing.

In our personal development lessons, Mrs King has been teaching us about keeping ourselves safe. We have been learning to recognise our body warning signs and discussing trusted adults who can help us if we ever feel worried, unsafe or need support.

In Science, we have been investigating forces, learning all about pushes and pulls. We even put our learning into action by designing, making and testing our very own paper aeroplanes! The children had a fantastic time experimenting with their designs and seeing how far and how well their planes could fly. There were plenty of thoughtful predictions, exciting launches and lots of opportunities to learn from our results.

As always, our Kindergarten classroom is a very busy place, filled with curiosity, conversation, creativity and learning. We are so proud of the enthusiasm the children bring to each day and the way they continue to grow as confident, capable and enthusiastic learners!
