INTERSCHOOL SOCCER TERM 2

Term 2 has been filled with excitement for our school’s soccer teams, with every year level representing us in their respective competitions. Students travelled to Monash University, where we competed against schools from the local area. Students displayed technique, strength and tactical nous on the field, and demonstrated team-spirit throughout the day.

Students also had the opportunity to explore other parts of the Monash University campus and experience university life. Though the results were not in our favour this year, our teams displayed remarkable qualities that go beyond the scoreboard.

The senior boys’ team put up a valiant effort throughout the tournament, narrowly missing the chance to advance to the next round by the slimmest of margins—a mere goal difference. A performance to be proud of for some of our senior boys exiting at the end of year 12. The senior girls faced tough competition and demonstrated great resilience to continue despite the setbacks, displaying great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Meanwhile, the intermediate boys’ team fought their way to the final game, demonstrating excellence in every match. In the final, despite their best efforts, the team came up short against a quality opponent. The intermediate girls displayed a valiant effort and showed great improvement throughout the day.

Our junior teams (Year 7 and 8) exemplified respect throughout the competitions—respect for their teammates, their opponents, and the game itself. They played with a sportsmanship that made our school proud, always adhering to fair play and showing grace in both victory and defeat. The Year 7 teams fell short in their final games to advance to the next round. After being very competitive throughout the entire day. A great first experience to build upon in the future.

Each player contributed to a day full of memorable moments, setting a high standard for future teams and making the school proud. Let’s all congratulate our soccer teams on their achievements and look forward to even greater successes in the future.
