Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest for Preschool 2027 are available from Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026 by contacting the School Office on 96101311 or via email at:

stjohnspk-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au  

NSW Department of Education preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school. Children can be enrolled from the beginning of the school year if they turn four years of age before 31 July that year. Attendance is 5 days per fortnight.

The Principal and placement committee will review all applications, in line with the NSW Department of Education preschool selection criteria, before offering the 40 places. 

Priority is given to:

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander children

• children living in low socio-economic circumstances

• children who are unable to access other early childhood settings due to disadvantage or financial hardship.

If places remain, the committee will then offer enrolment in the following order:

• children living within the school's enrolment intake area

• children living outside the school's intake area and who have siblings enrolled in the school

• children living outside the school's enrolment intake area.

The closing date for completed expressions of interest with necessary documents sighted is 3.00pm on Friday, 24th July, 2026.

Families are reminded that the expression of interest is not a confirmed enrolment for preschool 2027.
