School Breakfast Club

Days: Monday, Tuesday Friday.   Times: 08:25 - 08:45.   Room: SAKG Kitchen

Welcome back to Term 3!

It has been wonderful to welcome our students back to school. Classrooms have been buzzing with stories from the holidays, ranging from adventures in the sun and snow to movie reviews and lively debates about whether Toy Story 5 is as good as the earlier films!

Our teachers have been busy helping students settle back into classroom and playground routines. As part of this transition, we have revisited our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) Behaviour Matrix to remind students of our shared expectations for being Kind, Safe and Learners.

Please take a few minutes to look through one of our three age-appropriate versions of the SWPBS Behaviour Matrix with your child (see below). Having conversations at home about our shared expectations helps reinforce the positive behaviours that support a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment for everyone.

How Families Can Support Our SWPBS Behaviour Expectations

💚 Be Kind

  • Speak respectfully to and about others.
  • Encourage your child to use kind words and good manners.
  • Help your child resolve disagreements calmly and respectfully.
  • Celebrate acts of kindness at home.
  • Model empathy, patience and inclusion in everyday situations.

💛 Be Safe

  • Ensure your child arrives at school on time and ready to learn.
  • Follow school procedures for drop-off, pick-up and visitor sign-in.
  • Encourage your child to make safe choices at school and online.
  • Talk regularly about personal safety and respectful behaviour.
  • Inform the school of any concerns that may affect your child's wellbeing.

💙 Be a Learner

  • Encourage regular school attendance.
  • Support your child to complete home reading regularly.
  • Help your child come to school with the equipment they need.
  • Encourage your child to persevere when learning is challenging.
  • Celebrate effort, improvement and learning, not just achievement.

Supporting Our School Community

Families can also support SWPBS by:

  • Using the same behaviour expectations and language at home.
  • Talking positively about school and learning.
  • Working in partnership with teachers when concerns arise.
  • Reinforcing positive behaviours through praise and encouragement.
  • Helping children take responsibility for their actions and learn from mistakes.
  • Encouraging honesty, resilience and problem-solving.
  • Keeping communication open with the school.
  • Attending school events, information sessions and meetings where possible.
  • Respecting all members of our school community.
  • Being a positive role model for your child every day.

Working Together

When families and school staff use the same language and reinforce the same expectations, children are more likely to feel safe, connected and successful. T

Thank you for partnering with us to help every child Be Kind, Be Safe and Be a Learner.
