Mathmatics 

This term in Mathematics, we will be covering the following core topics: 

• Division: Students will utilise their knowledge of multiplication to learn how to share parts equally as well as learning about regrouping strategies. 

• Fractions: Students will be learning about halves, thirds, quarters on a number line. We will also focus on mixed numerals and equivalent fractions.

• Decimals: Students will learn how to add and subtract decimals as well as 

• Mass & Capacity: Students will be using scaled and digital instruments to interpret unmarked and partial units to measure and compare lengths, masses, capacities, durations and temperatures. 

• 2D Symmetry & Transformation: Students will understand about line and rotational symmetry of shapes and create symmetrical patterns and pictures.

Home learning tasks for Maths will be posted to Compass each week. These home learning tasks will assist students in consolidating their knowledge of mathematical concepts taught in the classroom.
