Last First Day of Primary School
We kicked off the year by welcoming our Year 6 students back for their final year of primary school, their very last first day at Berwick Chase.
Over these past two weeks, our time together has been filled with laughter, teamwork and plenty of opportunities to reconnect with old friends while getting to know new classmates. From building towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows, to racing to pass a hula hoop around a circle of joined hands, to working together to ‘cross a river’ using only each other and a few sheets of paper, our students tackled each challenge with resilience and enthusiasm.
Students explored what respect looks like in our community by creating short infomercial style videos to share with their peers, bringing lots of smiles and creativity to the classroom. During this time, we unpacked the responsibilities of being a school leader and explored the expectations of a Year 6 student at Berwick Chase Primary School.
By practising these values from the very beginning, our students are setting themselves up for a successful year while also starting the important transition to secondary school.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2026 has in store.
