Welcome Back to an Exciting New Year at Berwick Chase Primary School
Dear Families,
Welcome back to what promises to be another exciting and rewarding year at Berwick Chase Primary School. I hope all families enjoyed a restful and refreshing break and are feeling energised for the year ahead. The beginning of a new school year always brings a wonderful sense of optimism, and it has been a joy to see our school come back to life over the past few days.
A very special and warm welcome to our new Prep students who officially began their school journey with us this Monday. Starting school is a significant milestone, and while there were certainly some nerves on the day, the vast majority of our Prep students jumped into school life with confidence, curiosity and plenty of smiles. It was fantastic to see them engaging with their teachers, making new friends and beginning to find their place within our school community.
To our Prep parents and families who are starting this journey for the very first time, we extend a heartfelt welcome. Letting go on that first morning can be an emotional moment, and I hope the tears, if there were any, were short-lived! I also hope you were able to enjoy a coffee, take a deep breath and perhaps catch up with friends, knowing your children were in safe, caring and capable hands.
As is often the case at Berwick Chase, the year launches at pace. In the coming weeks, our students will have the opportunity to engage in rich learning beyond the classroom, with Somers School Camp and the Grade Six Urban Camp heading off early in the term. These experiences are invaluable in building independence, resilience and strong relationships.
Week Three will see a proud milestone for our 2026 Student Leaders, who will receive their leadership badges at a special assembly on Friday afternoon. We look forward to celebrating their commitment to service and leadership—fingers crossed the weather is kind to us and avoids another scorching hot day!
We are incredibly proud of the welcoming, inclusive and supportive school community we continue to build together. Thank you for the role each of you plays in making Berwick Chase such a special place to learn and grow. I look forward to working with you all as we embark on another positive and productive year.
Warm Regards,
Christ Short
Principal
