Grade Prep/1/2

Hi everyone, my name is Miss Ferguson and I am the new teacher at George Street Primary School. It has been so wonderful to meet so many of you already. Please make sure to say hello when you see me so I can put a face to a name!

Wow can you believe Term 1, Week 1! We are having a fantastic start to the term.

The Preps, 1s and 2s have begun their Literacy learning with a focus on prediction. We have been reading lots of stories about starting school and daily routines, making predictions about what might happen before reading. This is helping us build strong routines and understand what it looks like to be a great learner in Prep, Year 1 and Year 2.

In Numeracy, we have been exploring data. Students have been learning what data is and how to collect it. We are practising how to use tally marks correctly and are even putting our skills to use by collecting tally marks for table points.
