OLSH Pillar for Term 4

This term we focus on our OLSH Pillar: We are Heart People who Touch the Heart of All. We reach out to those in need in our community through the commitment to St Vinnie’s. This term we will continue to learn about ways to help and support others in our community, to show kindness and generosity.

In term 4 we will be selling ice blocks at lunch times on Friday's for 50c and all money raised will to go to support a chari.

 2/3 Class Mass

On Wednesday the 2/3 classes celebrated mass with their theme being Social Justice. God teaches us to be kind towards one another. He encourages us to give generously and help those who are in need.  Jesus loved all people and excluded no-one.  We are taught to stand up for justice and to be the face of Jesus.

All Saints Day and Souls Day

In November we celebrate All Saints Day on 1st November and All Souls Day on the 2nd November. We will celebrate All Saints Day with Mass in the church at 9am.  All Saints is a day is when we celebrate ALL the saints in Heaven. It's a day to pray to the saints and ask them to intercede for us.

There is a special prayer for All Souls Day, this is called Prayer of Eternal Rest.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and may everlasting light shine upon them, may they rest in peace. Amen

On 2nd November is All Souls' Day this is the day after All Saints' Day, and it is when we remember and pray for those who have died. Praying for the dead is an ancient Christian tradition and is celebrated throughout the world.
