A warm welcome back to term 4 and an especially warm welcome to our three new students Hunter, Azeya and Isabella. We have a lot of exciting learning and events coming up this term so please note the important diary dates in this newsletter.
As our shops fill with Halloween décor, I am reminded of my childhood in Scotland. Halloween is the shortened form of All Hallows Eve, and as this occurs on the eve of the Feast of All Saints we believed that this was a time when the spirits were not at rest until the power of all the saints brought peace on the 1st November. As part of this tradition, we would light a candle as a sign of light and love to those who need to be guided home.
A gentle reminder school starts at 8:50 and school finishes at 3:00.
Our school supervision begins at 8:30am, students should not be arriving before this time. If you need to drop your child / children to school earlier, please contact our OSHC Director Giulia gimbrogno@stb.catholic.edu.au or 8162 7700.
Similarly, after school supervision finishes at 3:20, if you are going to be late picking up your child please let the front office know. After 3:30 your child will be taken to OSHC and the daily fees will apply.
It is with great pleasure that I can announce one of our Year 5 podcast teams have been nominated in the 2023 Arch D Radio Podcasting Awards. With so many schools and students involved in radio and podcasting it is a huge well done in making it onto the very short nomination list. Well done on the nomination: Fatumata, Walija, Olisia & Narjes for their Dream Big project.
If you would like to hear all of our amazing Year 5 podcasts the QR codes are available outside the school library.
