Earlier this week, the RAA visited St Brigid's School to run important lessons on how to be street smart on our roads. Since the Street Smart Primary began in 2014, the RAA have taught thousands of children across our state essential skills to keep them safer around our roads.
Road safety is an important skill that children should learn from an early age and the topics covered during their visit included:
Please use the opportunity to have a discussion with your child about what they learnt and the importance of keeping yourself and others safe
Over the next 2 weeks, our Year 1-6 students will be completing their annual PAT Reading and Mathematics testing. This is an important time of the year for teachers and students; after completing the testing, our teachers are able to analyse your child's results and compare them to the previous years of testing, to identify areas of development or growth.
If your child comes home and talks about their PAT-Reading and PAT-Mathematics testing, discuss how they feel they went and if there's any areas they feel they need assistance with, or areas of possible extension. If the PAT testing hasn't happened, then discuss what they could do to prepare themselves to do their best.
If you would like to chat further about any of the standardised testing that we do at St Brigid's School, then I am always happy to chat.
I hope your child is having a successful start to Term 4.
Yours in Love, Peace and Learning,
