College-Provided Laptop Program 

Secure. Supported. Ready for Learning.

 

Students entering Years 7 and 10 in 2027 will participate in Trinity College’s College-Provided Laptop Program.

 

Did you know that Trinity College’s College-Provided Laptop Program provides students with a consistent, secure and fully supported device for learning?

 

From 2027, the CPLP will be mandatory for students entering Years 7 and 10. Each CPLP student will receive a Microsoft Surface Pro 12 Copilot+ PC with a Surface Keyboard, Surface Slim Pen 2, STM DUX protective case and charger.

 

CPLP devices are configured and managed by Trinity College, giving students reliable access to the applications and learning tools they need. A consistent College-managed device also improves online safety, reduces classroom disruptions and allows our ICT team to provide faster and more effective support.

 

Each device includes warranty coverage and three years of accidental damage protection. This provides protection for incidents such as accidental drops, cracked screens and liquid spills, subject to the conditions of the protection plan.

 

Students can help care for their device by:

  • Always keeping it in the supplied protective case

  • Carrying it securely and avoiding placing heavy items on it

  • Keeping food and drinks away from the device

  • Safely storing the Surface Pen and charger

  • Never leaving the device unattended

  • Reporting damage, faults or missing items as soon as possible

 

Please remember that loss, theft, deliberate damage and missing accessories are not covered by accidental damage protection. If you wish to get insurance for this purpose, please investigate appropriate insurance policy for the laptop personally.

 

If something is not working, the device is damaged or an accessory is missing, students should come and see the Trinity ICT Service Desk (TC Helpdesk) as soon as possible. We are here to help, and reporting issues early gives us the best opportunity to resolve them quickly and keep students learning.

 

Coming Soon: CPLP Online Safety Portal

 

Families can also look forward to the new CPLP Online Safety Portal, which will provide parents with additional support for managing internet filtering outside College hours.

 

As part of Trinity College’s broader commitment to online safety, internet filtering and parent visibility will also be made available to Junior School families. Further information about the portal, its features and how families can access it will be shared before its introduction.
