Foundation (Prep-Year 2)
Wow – what a term! The Preps have worked very hard this term and have learnt lots of new skills. During the course of the term, the students role played being scientists and produced lots of fantastic pieces of writing and artwork linked to this. We are sure they will love our next role play unit in Term 4.
Furthermore, Prep have consolidated their phonics knowledge so far. We have continued to explore the letter ‘p’ and practised using lots of different tools to help us write it and say it.
In Maths, students have learnt to follow a schedule and begin to recognise different activities that happen during different times in the day. Our students are learning we go to school in the morning and we go to bed at night.
We have loved reading Eric Carle – Day & Night to help us with this. Prep have also loved reading different stories to support their understanding of sharing and grouping, such as: The Doorbell Rang and The Squirrels Who Squabbled.
The whole Prep team would like to celebrate our students for their increasing independence and resilience as they continue to settle into learning routines at Jackson School; well done Prep!
Foundation (Year 1-Year 2)
1/2D have had an amazing Term 3! We have had lots of fun learning to write about casting spells and making potions through our book ‘Meg and Mog.’ We have been learning all about blending sounds together to sound out words in Phonics. In Numeracy we practiced our sharing skills to split objects into equal groups. We also learnt the days of the week and our weekly schedule. We were safe on our Community Walk. Well done 1/2D!
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
The 3/4 teams had a great time at R U OK day last week. We played games, enjoyed our sausages and had a dance party. In class we have been learning more about time through days of the week and months of the year. Everyone is looking forward to the holidays and the improving weather.
