House Cup 2026
The House Cup was inaugurated in 2010 as an opportunity to acknowledge participation in academic, cocurricular and extracurricular activities across the College which greatly influence the cohesion of our school and the way in which we value ourselves as a community which is accepting of all activities across our school.
Points are allocated and award for involvement in events and activities from Academic and Cocurricular awards, Debating, Music, Drama, Boxercise, Robotics, Sports, the Edmund Rice Society, Immersions, Athletics, The Manly Jazz Festival, Film Festival, Premier's Reading Challenge, da Vinci Decathlon and Open Day, and all other activities which accrued points throughout the year.
Other examples which accrue points include year group internal competitions, Red Dirt Immersion, the Edmund Rice Reading Challenge, sporting tours and various other activities run by the College.
Therefore in 2026 the participation of every student, their representation and connective involvement across the life of the College is considered.
This year was particularly close.
In 4th Place on points ……… 9,194 - PURTON
Narrowly in 3rd Place on points ……… 9,215 - BARRON
With only 2 points separating the top two houses one on 9,586 points and the other on 9,588 points...
the winner of the 2026 House Cup accruing 9,588 points, is RICE House.
Well done to the students and community of St Pius X, and I know in 2027 there are plans for the House Cup to be even bigger and more hotly participated!
R U OK? Day at St Pius X College
On Wednesday 9 September, St Pius X College came together to celebrate R U OK? Day, highlighting the importance of connection, support and meaningful conversations within our community.
At its core, R U OK? Day is not just a single day. It is about creating a school culture where we notice when someone may be struggling, genuinely ask how they are going, listen without judgement, and stay connected.
The essence of R U OK? is this: 'I notice you. I care about you. I'm willing to have a conversation.' Most people do not need us to solve their problems. They need to feel seen, heard and supported.
Our St Pius X celebrations commenced on Wednesday with our student leaders welcoming students in the foyer, proudly wearing yellow to promote the message of checking in with one another. At the morning assembly, our senior leaders spoke about the significance of R U OK? Day and encouraged students to support friends, family and classmates through simple but powerful conversations.
Students enjoyed yellow ice blocks at recess, providing an opportunity to connect and celebrate the occasion together. Year 7 and Year 9 students attended an inspiring presentation by Alex Barbas, while Year 11 students participated in a 'Call It Out' Respectful Relationships workshop. We would also like to acknowledge our excellent Counselling Team who work behind the scenes following up students that need support – Thank you from all of us.
Throughout this week, Pastoral Leaders reinforced the R U OK? message during year meetings and through Wellio lessons, emphasising that wellbeing is everyone's responsibility. Students and staff were encouraged to remember this year's key message:
'If you're thinking it, ask it. Ask R U OK? Any Day.'
Ask, Listen, Encourage Action and Check In (ALEC)
Thank you to all staff, student leaders and students who contributed to making the day such a positive and meaningful celebration of wellbeing and connection.
Year 9 Father's Day Fundraiser
Thank you to all families who supported our Father’s Day Appeal for the Royal North Shore Hospital NICU. Through the generosity of our community, Year 9 raised over $1,000, received donations from local businesses and organisations, and created heartfelt cards and handmade gifts, demonstrating the strong spirit of service, compassion and community within the cohort.
