Victorian State School Spectacular 

Riley Takes Centre Stage at Victorian State School Spectacular 

Year 10 student Riley Wooster will represent GSSC at the Victorian State School Spectacular (VSSS) on Saturday 29 August. This year marks Riley’s 7th year involved with VSSS and his 3rd year as part of the Creative Team, where he is mentored by Creative Director Neill Gladwin. For this year’s spectacular, themed ‘This Is Me’, Riley will perform his original poem Unmasked live on stage.

Riley’s involvement with VSSS has seen him take on a range of creative roles over the years. In 2025, he wrote the lyrics for Whispers in the Wind, which was performed by the VSSS choir, while also appearing as a writer and having his work featured in skits performed by Rowville Secondary College on the arena screens. In 2024, Riley wrote the words for Flow and appeared on stage alongside a cellist, performing to his own voice-over.

We’re incredibly proud to see Riley continuing to share his creativity, talent and passion on stage.

GSSC ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

And the winner is… MURRAY! Congratulations to Murray house for winning this year’s Athletics Carnival and successfully taking out both the girls' and boys' category for the second year in a row. This year's carnival was a huge success with over 500 students competing for house points and more records falling again this year. A huge well done to everyone who competed on Monday and congratulations to the following Age Group Champions and runners up.
