Staffing Update – Farewell for Now to Cara, and Welcome Back Emma
At the end of this term, we will be wishing Cara Jeffers all the very best as she commences maternity leave.
We are also very pleased to share that Emma Hunt will be returning early from leave to step into Cara’s role, teaching PE classes and working with 5/6A on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Emma will return in the final week of term, allowing her to work alongside Cara as a team before taking over her classes. This will provide a smooth transition for students and give Emma the opportunity to reconnect with our school community before Term 4 begins.
We will make sure we send Cara off with plenty of love over the coming weeks as she prepares for this very exciting next chapter, while also looking forward to welcoming Emma back to Box Hill North.
Our Toilet Upgrade is Finally Flushing Ahead!
After much anticipation, planning and more toilet conversations than any school should reasonably have to endure, we are very excited to confirm that our toilet upgrade will begin on the very first day of the September school holidays!
We are relieved to finally see the project getting underway and are looking forward to giving our student toilets the refresh they very much deserve. You could even say things are finally starting to… flow.
The first stage of works will involve asbestos-related works on Monday 21 September. As a result, TheirCare will be unable to operate from our school site on that day and will provide families with information regarding alternative locations for care.
The good news is that TheirCare will be back on site and the holiday program will be up and running from Tuesday 22 September.
We appreciate families’ flexibility on the Monday and promise the temporary inconvenience will be worth it. After all, we have been waiting a very long time to finally get this project off the ground and down the drain!
Happy Father’s Day!
A very happy Father’s Day to all of our wonderful dads, grandfathers and special people celebrating this Sunday.
We are looking forward to welcoming dads and special visitors into classrooms this Friday morning from 9:00–9:30am to spend some time with their children and join in our Father’s Day celebrations. Thank you in advance to everyone who is able to come along - these opportunities for children to share their school world with the important people in their lives are always very special.
A big thank you also to our parent volunteers who have been working behind the scenes to organise our Father’s Day celebrations, including the always-popular Father’s Day Stall. Your time and effort make these events possible and are very much appreciated.
I can’t wait to hear about all of the carefully selected gifts being opened on Sunday morning - hopefully with plenty of surprised faces from dads who definitely have no idea what is inside!
Wishing all of our Box Hill North dads and families a very happy Father’s Day.
