Year 9 Service Week

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS! 

Throughout the week, students actively engaged in a diverse range of meaningful service and community activities, including:

• Leadership Training: A dedicated day of leadership development run by Mustard Leadership.
• Urban Outreach: A day in the city, partnering with the Salvation Army, where students participated in their informative Homelessness City Tour program.
• Packs with Purpose: A hands-on day assembling "Care Packs with Purpose" to support individuals experiencing critical needs through our partnership with the Transit Soup Kitchen and Frankston winter shelter.
• Community Support: Supporting the Frankston Winter Shelter by preparing meals for guests and donating a portion of our care packs.
• School Service: Giving back locally by performing maintenance on the Primary School chicken coops, assisting teachers in classrooms, and working hard on school grounds beautification and cleanups.

We have the privilege of providing supplies and meals for:

• Frankston Winter Shelter

A special thank you to our Primary Art teacher, Mrs De Haan and all her students who completed so many notes with hope today. What an incredible effort from you guys. Special shout-out to Mrs Forrest and Mrs Barnes, who put in a massive effort, working with our Year 9 cooking team to get nearly 45, 3-course meals ready for delivery. 

This week has been full of stories of staff and students, and families stepping out and donating time and effort and of course, items. I loved hearing the story of the mystery individual who encountered some of our students making purchases for the drive, and when he heard what they were buying and why, he emptied a shelf of product and donated it all. Doing good is infectious.

Term 2 Winter Wonderland Community Market

Year 10, 11 & 12 VM students ran a wide range of stalls at the market this term. We ran at full capacity with 40 stalls and have been able to send over $800 (15 months of sponsorship) to Compassion to support Magdala, Brayen, Marvel and Aloi. 

A huge thanks goes to all the staff who helped pack up the market and to our amazing maintenance team, Mr Geoff Millikin and Mr Justin Mas.

ENCOUNTER - A night of worship

Encounter was a phenomenal night of worship. We were blessed with an incredible team of people facilitating the night, including Jay Johnstone leading us in communion, Ava Harris leading us in worship, Jordan Partridge leading the band, Tim Mann running the sound, and Marg Millikin running the kids' program. Many more hands helped make the night possible, and we are so grateful for the ability to put this on and bless the school community in this way.
