Bikes/Scooters

We have some bikes and scooters that have been left at school and not collected. If they belong to one of your children, we need you to contact the Office with proof of ownership.

If the bikes have not been collected by Friday 7th August, they will be donated to charity.SRC and SecondBite

The SRC came together in the Year 2 learning space to carefully sort and pack the generous donations into 16 large boxes and 11 large fruit trays filled with canned food. On Friday, 19 June 2026, the team from SecondBite collected the donations. Within half an hour, the truck was fully loaded and on its way to their depot, where the food will help support people experiencing hardship.

The SRC are incredibly proud of the generosity shown by our school community. Thanks to the kindness of our students, families and staff, our donation was one of the largest contributions received from a single organisation so far this year.

The SRC extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the Feed Hungry Tummies charity drive. Every contribution, big or small, has made a meaningful difference. The SRC look forward to partnering with SecondBite again in Term 4 as we prepare to help even more families during the summer holiday festive season.

Don't forget - Book Week approaches!

This term, in Week 7, we'll be celebrating our annual Book Week! This year's theme, "Symphony of Stories" celebrates the wonderful way characters, stories, and genres come together to create a rich and imaginative reading experience, just like the different instruments in an orchestra. Students are encouraged to join in the fun by dressing up as one of their favourite book characters.

We’re also excited to share that much-loved author and illustrator Leigh Hobbs will be visiting Lyndhurst Primary School during Book Week (Tuesday 25th August) to speak with our students. To help support the cost of this special visit, students are invited to bring a gold coin donation. Donations are greatly appreciated but are completely optional.

Road Safety

There have been several reports from both staff and parents regarding unsafe behaviour along Geoffson Place at pick-up time. Some parents are illegally parking and calling their children across the road to their vehicles. This has resulted in several near misses, as young children—often shorter than parked cars—can be difficult for drivers to see when moving through traffic.

Yard duty staff supervise students to the school gate, where their responsibility ends. From that point, parents and carers play a vital role in ensuring children are collected safely. We ask all families to model safe road behaviours by parking legally and meeting children safely rather than calling them across traffic.

Gaga Pit

LPS has a new Gaga pit and the students are enjoying learning about how to play.

We would like to remind our students and families that we are happy for students to play with the school equipment after school, as long as the play rules are followed and students are respectful, but after yard duty finishes at 3.45pm, students and families need to depart the grounds.
