Community Wellness

As part of our continued focus on recognising and celebrating positive learner behaviour, we are excited to launch a new Graduate Outcome Award card system in Term 3. During the Wellbeing Warriors duty, the WW's will each have a mini Graduate Outcome Award card to hand out. Each card is worth 50 house points and can be awarded to a learner who is demonstrating our values through positive engagement on the yard.

Learners may receive a card for demonstrating any of our Graduate Outcomes:

  • Courage
  • Achieve
  • Celebrate
  • Respect
  • Serve
  • Inclusive

Ultimately, the Graduate Outcome Award cards are about building a culture where positive behaviour is visible, celebrated and aligned with our vision of developing learners who live out our faith and values every day. Below are some wonderful learners who have already received a card!

CARE MEALS

At St Mary's, we are blessed to have a community that cares for one another in both the big and small moments of life.

Throughout the year, we provide home-cooked meals to families who may be experiencing a difficult time due to illness, loss or other challenges, as well as celebrating joyful milestones such as the arrival of a new baby.

If you are willing to prepare a meal for a family in need, we would love your support. Meal trays will be available from the school office. Simply come into the office to collect a tray, prepare your meal, and return it to the office, ready to be delivered to a family.

Your generosity is a simple yet meaningful way to show the love and care that makes our St Mary's community so unique! Thank you for helping us support families when they need it most.

ATTENDANCE

As we move through the cooler months, we have noticed a slight dip in school attendance, which is not uncommon during winter with seasonal illnesses circulating. We appreciate families doing their best to balance their child's health while recognising the importance of regular school attendance.

At St Mary's, we closely monitor attendance and work alongside families to support every learner. If a child's attendance falls below 80%, we will invite families to meet with us to develop an Attendance Plan. These plans are designed to work in partnership with families, identifying any barriers and exploring practical strategies to help students attend school as regularly as possible.

We understand that every family's circumstances are different, and at times, maintaining regular attendance can be challenging. Our goal is always to work together with care, understanding and support. Thank you for your ongoing support.
