Prep 2026
Last week we held our 2026 Prep Parent Information Evening. It was very well attended by lots of new families and some familiar faces as well! This week we have had visitors from Galada Kindergarten, as part of their transition program, Getting Ready for School and today we held the first 3 of our Prep Playdates. Our final Playdate sessions will be held tomorrow.
Next week we continue the Pathway to Prep for our newest students with the first of our four Orientation Mornings. Each of these steps in the Pathway is integral for SMCM staff to get to know the new Prep students and their families, while also allowing the new students to begin developing trusting relationships with the staff and familiarising themselves with their new cohort and environments.
We have been so excited to spend time with our new students and their families and can't wait to see them all next week as well.

Help Please!
We will need parent volunteers for the Sausage Sizzle at our End of Year Picnic and Carols event on Thursday 4th December. As always, volunteers' children will be given 10 raffle tickets for assisting. Keep an eye out closer to the date for the call out for volunteers. We always make sure volunteers are timed so they don't miss their own children performing in the carols.

Community News
The Epping Fire Brigade will be holding their annual Open Day on Sunday 26th October 2025 at their station in Epping. This much-loved community event is a fun and engaging family day out, giving locals the opportunity to:
- Meet their local volunteer firefighters
- Learn about fire safety and emergency preparedness
- Explore the trucks, equipment, and station
- Enjoy activities, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences for all ages
The Open Day not only provides entertainment for families, but also helps raise awareness about the important role of volunteer firefighters in keeping our community safe. They would love to see you there!
