Dr Steph Spincer's Antarctic Leadership Journey

Background to my Antarctic leadership journey..

Hi! I’m Dr Stephanie Spincer. I’m an Earth Scientist, science communicator, and science educator, working with the next generation of young scientists to help them understand the world, and the impact that humans are having on Earth’s systems. I am passionate about making science accessible, inclusive and inspiring for all students through my science education program, Scientifically Speaking, providing engaging, exciting and enriching science experiences for primary school students.

In 2022, I was selected as one of 100 women globally to participate in an international leadership program called Homeward Bound – for women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine), who are working towards a more sustainable future. The culmination of this leadership program is a voyage to Antarctica, where this network of 100 female scientists from all over the world will meet in person and spend a month together, sharing our knowledge and expertise on leadership and sustainability to make a difference to the future of our planet.
