Marc McBride Visit

Last Monday, illustrator Marc McBride visited our school as part of our Book Week celebrations! Marc McBride is the illustrator of the New York Times best selling series Deltora Quest.  

Marc ran workshops with our Years 3-6 students in which he shared how he works as an illustrator and encouraged students to 'try, try again' when creating their own art. He used an air spray gun to demonstrate how he creates his iconic dragons and then took students through a step-by-step sketching demonstration, inspiring them to create their very own mythical creatures. 

Marc loved his time at our school so much that he has already reached out about returning later in the year to launch his brand new graphic novel, Blunderbore, with our students! 

We were fortunate to receive all five of Marc’s dragon artworks from the workshops. Two of these dragons will be displayed in our school and one will be raffled off at our upcoming Art Show for one lucky student to take home! The final two artworks will be up for grabs through an exciting competition for Years 3-6 students. Students are invited to design and create their very own dragon or mythical creature/monster using any form of artwork!
