Laura Jane's Message

A message from our St Gabriel's Principal

Dear Families,

How wonderful to finish the term with such a joyful celebration of The Arts at St Gabriel’s. The Art Show this year has enabled us to consider how science and the arts link and explore possibilities for creating representations of our understandings of earth science through different artistic mediums.  We are so thrilled to share the children’s creations with you all and so proud of the effort and work that they have put into their pieces, both individual and Specialist Hub group pieces.

We congratulate all of the children for their creativity and the courage to share their art pieces with us all!

It is a really appropriate time to acknowledge our Specialist Educators. They bring such expertise, creativity and talent to our school. Their passion and dedication to their specialist area bring a most valuable contribution to our learning community.  We say thank today and recognise your amazing gifts.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to every staff member for their dedicated work in preparing the children and supporting them with their art pieces for this year's event. Our staff truly left no stone unturned in ensuring a wonderful evening for our school community.

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School Improvement Review

As part of our commitment to continuous growth and educational excellence, our school is currently undertaking the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) School Improvement Review. Occurring every four years, this process provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, evaluate student learning and wellbeing data, and collaborate with independent external reviewers to map out our future priorities. The insights gained from this review, alongside the valuable survey feedback provided by our children, staff, and families will directly shape our strategic plan moving forward. We look forward to sharing our key outcomes and future directions with you in the coming months as we continue working together to nurture a thriving, faith-filled learning community.

Prep Transition

We warmly welcome our new Prep children and their families as they begin their transition sessions starting in Week 1. This is an exciting time, and we look forward to supporting these new learners as they settle into our school community.

St Gabriel’s Ways of Being

As Term 4 begins, we ask families to talk with their children often about the St Gabriel’s Ways of Being.

We want to set every child up for success. By focusing on our Ways of Being each day in the Hub, our Educators provide clear, consistent guidance so children always know what is expected of them.

Term 4 is filled with exciting events, and as the weeks progress, children can naturally grow tired and find it harder to consistently show these positive behaviors. We invite you to start this conversation early in term 4 so that together we can support all the children to have a successful term.

We wish all of our families a very happy and safe Term 3 Holiday period!

We look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 5th October.
