Year 11 History Excursion Holocaust Institute
On Tuesday October 15 the Year 11 Modern History students had the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Institute of Western Australia as part of their studies of Nazi Germany. Students explored the dangers of prejudice; exploring the rise of Nazi Germany, the anatomy of the Holocaust and heard a moving testimony from a Holocaust survivor. The theme of resistance and the resilience of the human spirit in the Holocaust was also explored as well as democracy and discrimination in the world today. The students were complemented by the facilitators for their preparedness, approach, and engagement having represented the College in an outstanding and respectful manner. I would like to thank Mr Roberts for attending the excursion as well as helping to ensure students gained the most out of this valuable learning experience.
