Students have been busy making sushi and Japanese pancakes this past fortnight in the kitchen.
Students were free to choose what ingredients they would like in the sushi. We had students making and enjoying avocado sushi, cucumber sushi, and avocado and cucumber sushi. Some cohorts harvested spinach and spring onions for their sushi rolls as well! Our sweet, fluffy Japanese pancakes were a hit amongst all students, and no one could believe that they had mayonnaise in them!
Students also began making filo pastry for our spanakopita (greek spinach and feta pie), which we have commenced making this week.
This term, we would love to welcome helpers into our Kitchen Garden program to maximise the experience and learning outcomes.
In order to volunteer, you will need to hold a current Working With Children Check, and sign a code of conduct at the office.
Morning block classes run from 9am - 11am.
Middle block classes run from 11:40am - 1:40pm.

A big thanks to our amazing students that help in the garden at our Garden Lunchtime club. Their jobs include watering, taking care of our animals and garden maintenance.
We have started a berry garden, Year 3/4 s planted strawberries and raspberries . It wil be a lot of fun picking the berries and using them in our kitchen recipes.
It was all hands on deck to help create our new pea tee pee. It wonẗ be long until we have a cool place to sit under in the warmer months.
Now is the time to plant alot of our summer produce - pumpkins, tomatoes, corn and zucchini. We planted Queenslnd Blue and Butternut pumpkin varieties.
Preps and Year 3 /4 s dug up loads of Potatoes , we look forward to using them in our yummy recipes.
Enjoy your spring holidays. See you in term 4.
Happy Gardening
