Celebrating Christmas

This is a magical time of year and is especially exciting when you're in prep. To celebrate, we have decorated our classroom with paper chains, rudolf the red-nosed reindeer and moving Santas. Our Christmas tree is filled with hand-made decorations and we have enjoyed reading and writing Christmas stories.

It was wonderful to see our junior students all bravely take the stage in front of a filled theatre, to participate in the ACPS Christmas Concert. Thank you to Mrs Bailey for all her work in preparing the class for the event. We were both incredibly proud of their performance.

Buddies

Prep C have been busy preparing for their Grade 6 buddies' graduation ceremony. We wanted to contribute to this special occasion and thank them for all their support this year. The prep students wrote letters which were mounted on a drawing and laminated to become a placemat for their buddies during their graduation meal. The preps also decorated special bags for their Grade 6 year books.

We are grateful for the kindness, support and fun times that we've had with our buddies. The preps will miss them very much but wish them well as they transition to high school.

Creations

As fatigue has set in over the past couple of weeks, the prep students have needed to balance their learning with some quieter activities. It has been wonderful watching the class share their resources and come together to create collaborative projects. The scale and detail of these creations has been impressive and the class love having their work photographed!

Thank you!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Prep C families for their wonderful support this year. Parents, carers and extended family have all been involved in making this a special first year of school for their children. Thank you to those who have participated in the parent reading program, attended the school swimming program, assisted on excursions and joined us for Grandparents Day. It really does enhance the school program when family choose to participate and it creates special memories for the students.

It has been a fantastic year and I have enjoyed getting to know and working with all the students in Prep C. This term, I have noticed an increase in confidence, maturity and greater responsibility in the students as they prepare to transition to Grade 1.

I wish everyone a happy, relaxed time over the festive season and look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Merry Christmas!

Mrs Callaway
