Sports Report

On Friday the 12th of September, the Highvale district team went to Bill Stewart Athletics Track to compete in the Gardiner’s District Athletics Competition. Select students across years 3-6 that qualified from the House Athletics took part in these events.
It was a chilly morning with the wind blowing through our hair as we got off the bus at the track. We were all hyped and ready for our respective events.
Everyone competed to the best of their ability, and did amazing with all their schoolmates and friends watching. We supported each other and encouraged our friends.
It was a great experience, and everyone had fun. Sadly, most people did not get through to the next round, but they had fun hanging out with their friends and cheering others on, which is all part of the HPS school spirit.
In 1500m, Discus, Long Jump and High Jump, we managed to get a few winners, which was amazing. Many parents and carers watched proudly as their children competed in their events, and everyone had a wonderful time overall, both on and off the track and field. We got 6th out of 9 schools in total, so well done Highvale!
We would like to present special thanks to Mr Adrian Cresswell, who organised and helped to run the whole thing. Special thanks also to Chris Vat, who volunteered his time to help run the athletics events.
Well done Highvale!
