Year 6 Reflections

YEAR 6 REFLECTION – 6S
As 2025 is slowly coming to an end, the Year 6 students are experiencing their last term of primary school. I am Grace and have been part of the Highvale Primary School community for seven years. Highvale has been like my second home and leaving for high school is a nervous and exciting thing. One of the favorite memories I have is the Year 5 production, it was my first time acting and expressing myself in such an awesome way. I hope all Year 6 students have a great time in high school: learning, making new friends, and experiencing new things.

Our journeys of primary school have been precious and amazing and are unfortunately quickly coming to an end. We are ready to start on a new leaf in high school. My name is Myra, and I am one of those Year Sixes moving on to high school in 2026. As exciting as it will be to be in a completely different environment, it might be a little frightening as well, because of being surrounded by much older people. It will be thrilling to move on to high school. I give my best wishes to everyone and hope we will have a great time moving forward.

6S is so excited and nervous about entering a new chapter of their lives! Here is what some people in our class are saying:
“I am excited for Celebration Day because we're going to Time Zone and Zone Bowling with our friends.” - Livia
“I am looking forward to making the scrapbook and putting all my memories of Highvale inside! – Chloe
“I am looking forward to Graduation and receiving my signing bear.” – Jayson
“I am looking forward to exploring the curriculum at High School and making new friends” – Anish
YEAR 6 REFLECTION – 6D
Hello, I’m Jasper from Year 6, and I’m here to talk about the Year 6 expectations of the last weeks of the year. As you may know, the Year 6’s are at the end of their time at Highvale Primary School and are transitioning into High School. I’ve conducted an interview with a few students and asked them what they’re looking forward to this term and the things they’re excited for in the future.
In general, most said they were excited for the Year 6 Graduation. Many also said that the change from primary school education to high school education would thrill them. One quoted that making new opportunities and taking chances excited them. In conclusion, the change from primary school to high school is a massive move. New friends, old friends, it’s going to be a churn in students’ lives.
