Principal's Report

A message from the Principal

Term 4 is a special time in the life of our school. It is the term in which we complete and celebrate the current year while preparing for the one ahead. Classrooms, learning spaces and corridors are busy as we finalise this year’s learning programs, farewell our graduating students, and plan for 2027.

On Thursday 15 October, we celebrated the wonderful Arts/Design and Digital Technologies Exhibition. The creativity, skill and imagination on display were a testament to our students and the teachers who guide them. The evening also marked the launch of the inaugural publication of Resonate, a milestone for our school and a new platform for student voice, creativity and talent. Congratulations to everyone who contributed, and a special thanks to Mr Langer, who led the creation of Resonate.

enormous impact this year’s graduating class has had on our school and celebrate their contributions over the past six years. The Year 12 exams commenced this week, starting with the English/EAL exam on Tuesday. It has been heartening to see the focus and determination demonstrated by the students in preparing for their exams, and they will no doubt be rewarded for the effort they have put in.

To all our Year 12 students sitting their final exams: good luck. You have worked hard, you are well prepared, and we are cheering for you. Trust your preparation, look after yourselves, and do your best.

This Friday, our whole staff will take part in a professional learning day focusing on Visible Wellbeing and building engagement, attention and focus to support our students’ learning. On Monday, teachers will turn to assessment and report writing. As a result, students will enjoy an extra-long weekend. Please make sure they use the time to rest and recharge.

This week, our school’s device ban begins. Students are not to use devices at recess or lunch unless they are studying in the Library or are supervised by a teacher. We thank families for their support and encourage you to talk with your child about the change. We look forward to seeing more conversation, play and connection around the schoolyard.

Thank you for your continued support of our school. I look forward to a marvellous term ahead.

Warm regards,

Katie Watmough
