Principal's Report

Tim Furphy, Principal

Welcome back to Term Two, I trust everyone had a great break. Apart form my footy team (Carlton) being a real downer at the moment, it was nice to have some time to recharge the batteries and spend some time with the family. Towards the end of this term we will again hold Community Story Time one afternoon per week. This will be a chance for any families to bring in siblings and people in our community to join us for a book and an activity.

We begin the term getting back into the swing of our routines and hit the ground running (pardon the pun) with Cross Country this week. Plenty of photos are on the School Events page.

Across the school this term our Enquiry topic is Geography, with the big idea question "how do places shape our lives?". Some classes will be invetigating places locally, others Australia wide. I spent some time in 4/5/6 Art yesterday afternoon hearing about local landscapes, particularly Hanging Rock being a really special place in our community.

With any luck over the next little while we'll have a new sign going up near the carpark entrance, keep an eye out for it to be installed. It will replace the old tiled one facing the road. We've also had new mulch layed out in our playgrounds, it's always funny the first little while when it feels so fluffy (and sometimes hard to get through!).

MOTHERS DAY AFTERNOON TEA

Please join us for a mothers Day afternoon tea on Friday 8th May from 2:45pm onwards. Come in to the classrooms for a cuppa, afternoon tea and enjoy some games & craft activities.
