Grandparents and Special Friends' Afternoon

What a wonderful afternoon we had today, acknowledging the feast day of St Joachim and St Anne with our Grandparents and Special Friends Afternoon. St Joachim and St Anne were the parents of Mary and the Grandparents of Jesus. How lucky we are to have a such a wide and supportive community to celebrate with on these special days?

Epping CFA Needs Volunteers – Can You Help Protect Our Community?

The Epping Fire Brigade, part of the Country Fire Authority (CFA), is currently running a recruitment campaign to encourage more local residents to consider volunteering as firefighters.

Why it matters: Epping CFA is a 100% volunteer-run brigade that responds to over 650 emergency calls each year—including fires, accidents, and other incidents that impact local families, businesses, and schools. We are looking to strengthen our response capacity to continue to meet the demands of a growing population.

What we offer: Volunteering with Epping CFA is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful. We provide nationally recognised training in firefighting and emergency response, along with leadership, communication and teamwork skills that can benefit you in everyday life and work. Volunteers enjoy a strong sense of camaraderie, purpose, and connection to the local community—all while playing an essential role in public safety.

Who they’re looking for: CFA volunteers come from all walks of life. You don’t need to be a firefighter already—full training is provided. What matters most is a willingness to learn, work as part of a team, and support the safety and resilience of our community.

How you can help: Interested in joining? Visit www.eppingcfa.com.au to learn more or express your interest. Not the right time for you? Share this message with friends, family or neighbours who may be interested. Support the campaign by following and sharing posts from Epping CFA’s social media.

Volunteering with CFA is a chance to learn valuable skills, meet great people, and make a real difference. Let’s all do our part to keep Epping safe and strong. For more information, contact our recruitment team at recrutiment@eppingcfa.com.au
