Sports Update

Interschool Sports
To wrap up the term's interschool sports, our Intermediate and Junior Boys Netball teams took on the courts.
Both teams played really well, and the Intermediates made the final!
Great effort to all students who were involved.
Western Metro Cross Country
On Thursday, Skye Gamosa competed at the WMR Cross Country.
Skye ended up coming 4th in the Senior (17-20yr) Boys 5km race, qualifying for the SSV State Finals.
Skye has also entered the Victoria Athletics 6KM All Schools State Championship Cross Country, representing Lara SC.
Congratulations to Skye, and good luck for both of the State Cross Country events.

All of our teams played well despite the trying weather. The under 15 girls had a close game, losing by 2 tries and the under 15's boys side won by 2. Our U 18’s boy side are still undefeated winning, 36-24.

Cricket Academy Update
With the autumn and early-winter weather remaining mostly fine and allowing for outdoor cricket practice, skill-acquisition sessions have continued over at Lara Sporting Club over the past month. In between bat-verses-ball net practice, students have also been focussing catching and fielding, with a series of hand-eye coordination drills and minor games introduced in recent weeks.
Looking ahead to our Term 3 Winter Indoor Program, we’ve secured bookings at Barwon Regional Cricket Centre and Nimble Hits Sports Stadium, which will allow preparations for competition (later in the year) to continue over the winter period. In addition, we also have another visit to City Power Centre lined up for Monday 4th August where students will utilise the elite high-performance training facility located at Junction Oval in Melbourne. Further details will be available via Compass shortly.
