Excursion Spotlight

Year 5 Excursion: Brickendon Estate

Our Year 5 students have been learning about Colonial Australia in HASS, and looked at the reasons, influences and challenges that were faced during this time. To deepen this learning, students visited Brickendon Estate and spent the day exploring the 1820's family-owned working farm.

During the excursion, they learnt about convicts, farming techniques and the animals. Students explored 200-year-old buildings, the barn, granary and chapel, and a highlight was feeding and patting the animals. It was a fantastic day - a big thank you to all the parent helpers who came along.
