Last Monday 15 June, the Ben Venue Boys and Girls soccer teams showcased remarkable skill and determination at the PSSA Football Knockout Gala Day. Both teams delivered impressive performances, advancing confidently through the competition.

The boys team kicked off their campaign with a commanding 10-0 victory over Drummond Memorial Public School, followed by another strong win against Sandon Public School, with a scoreline of 8-0. Their determination was tested in a nail-biting match against Armidale City Public School, where they clinched a close 2-1 victory. These outstanding results have earned the boys a spot in Round 4, where they will face Glen Innes PS early in Term 3.

Meanwhile, the girls team demonstrated their prowess with an 8-0 win against Drummond Memorial Public School and a hard fought 3-1 victory over Armidale City Public School. Progressing to Round 4, the girls will take on Sir Henry Parkes PS with great enthusiasm.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the following students who have been selected to represent the Armidale Zone teams: Adelaide, Audrey, Shaelinta, Imogen, Charlee, Benji, Thomas, Mitchell, Nate, and Evan. These talented players will be attending the North West Trials later this week and we wish them all the best as they continue to pursue excellence on the field.

Well done to all players, coaches, and supporters for an outstanding day of football! We look forward to seeing the Ben Venue teams continue their success in the upcoming rounds.
