Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope all of our students and families enjoyed a restful and refreshing break and had the opportunity to spend some quality time together.

It has been wonderful to see our classrooms filled with smiling faces and eager learners once again. The enthusiasm and positive energy that students have brought back to school has made for a fantastic start to the term.

Term 3 promises to be another busy and exciting one, with many learning opportunities, sporting events, celebrations and community activities planned. As always, our focus remains on providing high-quality learning experiences while nurturing the wellbeing, faith and growth of every child.

Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership. Working together enables us to create the best possible learning environment for our students, and we greatly appreciate your involvement in our school community.

I would also like to acknowledge our dedicated staff, who have returned refreshed and ready for another term of inspiring, supporting and challenging our students to achieve their personal best.

I look forward to another wonderful term of learning, growth and celebration together.

Today our school was filled with cosy pyjamas, fluffy slippers and plenty of smiles as we celebrated Pyjama Day! It was wonderful to see so many students and staff embracing the fun while coming together to support a great cause. Days like these remind us that school is not only about learning but also about building a strong sense of community, showing compassion and making a positive difference for others. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the day such a success. 

Our Learning Conversations will be held next week and provide a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to meet with their child's teacher to discuss their Semester 1 Report, celebrate achievements, and talk about learning goals for the remainder of the year. These conversations are an important part of the partnership between home and school and help ensure we are working together to support every child's learning and wellbeing. If you haven't already done so, please book your appointment through PAM or SIMON Everywhere. We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with your child's teacher.

Thank you to all of our parents, carers and staff who attended Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings this week. Your time, collaboration and commitment to working together to support our students is greatly appreciated. These meetings provide an invaluable opportunity to celebrate each child's progress, review learning and wellbeing goals, and plan the next steps to ensure every student is supported to achieve their full potential. We value the strong partnerships we share with our families and thank you for your ongoing involvement in your child's education. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our teachers for the significant time, preparation and care they invest in these meetings, ensuring every conversation is meaningful and focused on achieving the best outcomes for our students.

Road Safety Around Our School: The safety of our students is a shared responsibility, and we ask all families to help keep our school environment safe during drop-off and pick-up times. Please remember to observe all parking signs, avoid double parking or stopping in no-standing zones, and use the designated pick-up and drop-off areas where possible. We also encourage families to use the designated pedestrian crossings and to model safe road behaviours by holding children's hands and taking the time to cross safely. Thank you for your patience, care and cooperation in helping to ensure every child arrives at and leaves school safely each day.

This term, we continue to build on our work with Magnify Sandhurst, strengthening our commitment to providing every student with a high-quality, evidence-informed education. Our staff are continuing to engage in professional learning and coaching to further develop consistent, explicit teaching practices that support student learning and wellbeing. Through collaboration, reflection and ongoing improvement, we are ensuring that every classroom provides engaging, structured learning experiences where all students can thrive. We look forward to continuing this important work throughout Term 3 as we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for every learner.

Our Breakfast Program continues to be a wonderful success, providing students with a nutritious start to the school day while creating a welcoming space to connect with friends before classes begin. It has been fantastic to see so many students enjoying breakfast together each week. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Tongala Lions Club for another generous donation in support of the program. Their ongoing commitment to our school community is greatly appreciated and helps ensure we can continue to provide this valuable service for our students.
