Dear Parents and Carers

As a school community, we are called to follow the example of Jesus, who welcomed all people, listened with understanding, and treated everyone with dignity and respect.

In a time when our wider society can often feel divided, the values of dialogue, kindness and compassion are more important than ever. 

Meaningful dialogue begins with listening. When we take the time to hear one another's stories, perspectives and experiences, we build understanding and strengthen our sense of belonging. Even when we disagree, we can choose respect, empathy and kindness.

As a Catholic community, we remain committed to creating a culture where every person feels safe, valued and included. Bullying, racism and discrimination have no place in our school or society.  Every individual is created in the image and likeness of God, and our differences should be celebrated as gifts that enrich our community and help us grow together.

We encourage our students to walk in Jesus' footsteps by being people of courage and compassion: standing up for what is right, speaking kindly, welcoming those who may feel left out, and showing respect to all.  Small acts of kindness can have a profound impact and help build a community where everyone flourishes.

May we continue to work together to foster a spirit of understanding, inclusion and hope, ensuring our school remains a place where every person is known, valued and loved.

Sacramental Students

Celebrating Saint Mary MacKillop

This month, we celebrate the life and legacy of Saint Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint. Born in Melbourne in 1842, Mary dedicated her life to serving those most in need, especially through education and care for the poor.

Together with Father Julian Tenison Woods, she founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart in 1866. The Josephite Sisters established schools and provided support to families in rural and disadvantaged communities across Australia and New Zealand.

Mary MacKillop is remembered for her courage, compassion, and deep faith. Despite facing many challenges, she remained committed to her mission of helping others and trusting in God's providence. Her famous words, "Never see a need without doing something about it," continue to inspire people today.

Canonised as a saint on 17 October 2010, Mary MacKillop's example reminds us of the importance of kindness, service, and perseverance. As we reflect on her life, may we be inspired to make a positive difference in our own communities through acts of generosity and care.

Diocesan and School Theme 

This year our school theme is: Seek Peace and Pursue it.   For leaders, educators, students, and families, this theme is both a challenge and a compass. It reminds us that peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice, mercy, and love. It calls us to be peacemakers in our schools, homes, communities, and hearts. And it affirms that the pursuit of peace is not optional, it is essential to the mission of Catholic leadership. 

In 2026, may we not only seek peace, but pursue it with courage, humility, and hope.
