We made it! The last week of Term 4 is finally here. What a wonderful 2023 our school community has had. We have celebrated in many ways together – Family Fun Night, Mother’s Day event, Father’s Day event and P&F morning teas.
We have also raised a substantial amount of funds with the following fundraising events – uniform stalls, icy pole Fridays, food drives, raffles, Crazy Camel artwork and the colour fun run! For a full breakdown of the 2023 P&F financial report, please read through to the end of this article.
A huge shout out to the amazing parents of the P&F committee – your continued effort, time, passion and positive attitude is the backbone of the school events. You help to bring the school community together, creating wonderful memories for the staff, parents and children alike.
To all the families of St. Fidelis, thank you for allowing your children to engage in the P&F events/activities and for your generous and continued financial support – you are the reason that our children continue to have access to resourceful and engaging learning spaces.
To the staff of St. Fidelis, thank you for your patience and kindness with (yes, our children) but also with the P&F members as we invade your lunch and workspaces preparing for all the events that we run – you are the reason the P&F committee can successfully implement each of our ideas.
And finally, to our extended community, the local businesses that support us with lunch order days, market stalls, Mothers and Father’s Day events, raffle prizes and monetary donations – you are the reason that we, as a school community, can continually increase the school funds. These funds are an imperative component for our children to access new and improved resources for their education.
Thanks all round. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to ALL!
P&F AGM – Monday 11th December 7pm (staffroom)
Christmas Carol Evening – Thursday 14th December
Christmas Raffle – Thursday 14th December
On Friday 8th December the St. Fidelis' students had an AMAZINGLY FUN day participating in the Colour Fun Run. The ‘colour run’ took place in the Hawthorn Yard, after lots of ummming and ahhhing due to Melbourne’s unpredictable weather, but thank goodness it all worked out. The St. Fidelis' staff and P&F members had a great time splashing the children with colour as they raced around the yard cheering, dancing and laughing.
A big thanks to the behind-the-scenes parents who assisted with sorting the fun run prizes, running the BBQ and setting up the event – especially to Bec K one of the co-presidents of the P&F.
Thanks to the staff of St.Fidelis who actively participated in the event, getting splashed with colour and engaging with the students – it is a memory our children will forever hold.
Overall, the event was very successful, and we raised a whopping $8,179. Well done everyone!
This coming Thursday 14th December, our children will be bringing the Christmas spirit to St. Fidelis with their wonderful singing of carols. This evening will be a great way for our St. Fidelis' community to finish off 2023. There will be a sausage sizzle, Christmas raffle, lucky dip, Baker’s Delight stall and Village Bakery stall. Don’t forget to bring along money and a bag to take home your purchased goodies. Let’s finish off the year with a huge CHEER!
A big thank you to the parent volunteers who have kindly assisted their time to help run the sausage sizzle – your support is the reason that we can successfully run these events. You are very much appreciated.
Each family should have received their raffle tickets for our annual end of year Christmas raffle. Tickets are only $1 each and will put you in the draw to win some fantastic prizes. The raffle will be drawn at the Christmas carol evening (Thursday 14th December). Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on the carol’s night for any family and friends that attend. Good luck and thank you for your support with this annual fundraiser.
The P&F will be closing 2023 with our end of year annual general meeting (AGM). We welcome and encourage parents to attend so that you can celebrate with us the amazing effort and commitment of our school community. The meeting will commence at 7pm, TONIGHT, in the school staffroom. We hope to see you there!
Yet to be calculated is the Carols' Night Event (inclusive of final raffle profit, lucky dip, The Village Bakery stall, Bakers Delight stall and sausage sizzle).
As can be seen, 2023 was a very successful fundraising year. Again, thank you to everyone. The P&F looks forward to a successful 2024 with each of you. Take care and enjoy your summer holidays!
