Last Photography MAP excursion for 2026!

For our last Photography MAP excursion of the year, we headed into the city for one final day of exploring, taking photos and enjoying the city.

We started with a walk around the MCG, where there was plenty to keep our photographers busy. From interesting architectural lines and shapes to textures and patterns, students had lots of opportunities to find different angles and create some interesting compositions.

We then made our way through Melbourne's hidden laneways and beautiful arcades, taking in all the little details that make the city so interesting to photograph.

At lunchtime, we stopped at Melbourne Central, where Peter surprised us with a demonstration of his amazing piano skills on the public piano. A pretty impressive lunchtime performance!

Before heading back to school, we also got to explore the newly opened State Library Station, another interesting addition to our city adventure.

Of course, the day was also a little bittersweet as we said goodbye to our Year 9 students, who will be moving on from MAP next year. It was a lovely opportunity to look back on all the fantastic excursions we've shared over the past couple of years, the places we've discovered, the photos we've taken and, most importantly, the memories we've made along the way.

A great day out and a lovely way to wrap up another year of Photography MAP!
